Mendo x Vicky 2015 Litter
After looking North, South, East and West for the perfect stud dog for Vicky's next litter we have decided to go West to California. Mendo finished 2013 being #16 for all Ridgebacks competing in the AKC conformation ring. Not only has Mendo excelled in the show ring, he has also excelled on the coursing field. Earning both a Best In Field and his AKC FCh making him a Dual Champion like Vicky.

Here is what his owner/handler says about him:
"Mendo was born at precisely noon on a Friday, which was very convenient for his breeder, Sherrie Todd. He caught Sherrie's eye from a very young age and when we came looking for a pet puppy, Sherrie convinced us that he was the one for us. Initially unsure about dog shows, we reluctantly agreed to take little Mendo and show him when he was of age. Now only four and a half years later, he shares the house with two more show ridgebacks and we rarely miss an entry in So Cal.
Mendo finished his championship very quickly, expertly handled by co-breeder Helen Hayek. All of his championship points were earned in the extremely competitive California show rings. Mendo went on to complete his grand championship within six months. Additionally,Mendo proved his versatility by earning his field championship in lure coursing and winning a best in field in the process.
In January 2013, Mendo won Best of Breed at the Kennel Club of Palm Springs with co-breeder David Hayek’s skilled handling. What a great start to the year, followed by more breed wins and multiple group placements! With select showing limited to Southern California during 2013, Mendo continued winning and achieved the #16 spot for the year.
We are so proud of our amazing boy. Mendo is the most loving, go-with-the flow, even tempered dog. Now he is ready to pass the torch so keep your eyes out for the Mendo kids rocking the show ring!"
We're hoping our two dual champions produce "rockers" as well!"

May 5th Vicky has finally come into season. We will start to monitor her progesterone levels and anticipate that we will be breeding her sometime the week of May 18th. Vicky was breed via surgical AI using frozen semen on May 18th. We will be doing an ultrasound on June 17th to see if the breeding was successful. Update: the breeding was a success. Vicky will be having a smaller size litter of 4-5 puppies via c-section on July 15th.
July 14th puppies have arrived!
Vicky went in for her c-section on July 14th after we noticed that her temperature had dropped signifying that she would be going into labor soon. So at 1:30 pm we welcomed 3 ridged puppies, 2 girls and one boy. We are naming them the Three's Company Litter, Jack, Janet and Chrissy
