Lure Coursing
We participate in coursing offered by the AKC and the ASFA. Lure coursing is a fun event that has the dogs chase artificial lures (plastic bags), in an open field and are judged by one or two judges on the dogs overall ability, speed, endurance, agility, and how well they follow the lure. You really don't need to do any special training other than to bring a dog that is in
good working condition and exhibits prey drive.
Wayne's passion for lure coursing lead him to obtain his Lure Coursing Judging license for ASFA and AKC. In 2021 he judged the most ASFA hounds in the US.
Back in 2007 Libby gave us our start in coursing. She was ranked 2 years in a row in the top 5 for ridgebacks coursing with ASFA. She passed her coursing instincts on to her progeny who have continued doing well on the field.
Many in her line have earned Best in Fields, placed in the top 10 nationwide and earned both ASFA and AKC Field Champion titles. Xena (2018) and her daughter Remmy (2021) have both won a National Specialty Best in Field.

2018 saw Xena defeat more dogs than any other dog in the US to become the RRCUS #1 Combined Lure Courser and top sighthound that year. Her sister Libby, owned by Shellie, was the #3 Combined Lure Courser. Wayne and Shellie have been seen all over the country coursing Azize dogs and building a legacy of high performance. Many fellow coursing competitors have mistaken Shellie for Wayne's actual wife which lead us to calling her Wayne's "coursing wife".
The prestigious AKC Dual Champion title has been won by many Azize dogs who have excelled on the field as well as the show ring. Form and function is at the forefront of all we do with our hounds. We couldn't be more proud!
Below are some Azize dogs that have a love for chasing the "bunnies"
